Kacey Musgraves Talks Career Challenges and Triumphs During Master Class at MusicTown

June 28, 2018

The last few years have been good to Kacey Musgraves.

Following several CMA Awards and a Grammy win, the 29-year-old singer/songwriter has recently embarked on a tour with Harry Styles, and her latest song, "Slow Burn," has been dubbed "The Song of the Summer" by Rolling Stone.

Given all of her success, Musgraves likes to give back to other young people who are looking to break into the music industry. So when she had a tour stop in Detroit this week, she made it a point to stop at MusicTown so that she could teach a Master Class in music to a group of students from around the metro area.

Filling out the panel were Samantha Borenstein, Manager of Regional Promotion at Columbia Nashville, and Katie Dean, Senior Vice President of MCA.

99.5 WYCD's Rob & Holly served as hosts.

Watch their entire discussion below, which also included a special live performance of "Butterflies" from Musgraves.
