Kin Faux Brings Texas Country to Detroit on Homegrown Happy Hour

September 11, 2018

Kin Faux wants to bring country music back to its roots.

That was the message that shone through during their recent appearance on Homegrown Happy Hour with Frank Williams Jr.

The four-piece band, which has ties in both Lapeer, Michigan and San Antonio, Texas, stopped by to play songs from their forthcoming self-titled album, which comes out in just a couple of weeks.

"We wanted to take a different stab at country music," says frontman Ruben Gonzalez. "Our saying is 'There's no skinny jeans or glitter britches in this band.'"
