Aspen Jacobsen Talks New Album 'Love Each Other Right' on Behind the Mic

October 11, 2019

Aspen Jacobsen is a young musician who already knows what she wants.

The 15-year-old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is making all the right moves towards a career in music, and has been doing so for the past decade.

After getting her start in theater and as a member of the Michigan Opera Theatre's Children Chorus, Jacobsen decided to start gearing her efforts towards making her own music as she entered her teen years.

When she's not at school or doing homework, she spends her time writing songs and performing at festivals around the area.

Jacobsen says she was inspired to really start pursuing a life as a musician when she saw another young performer on stage at a festival, and realized she could make a career of it, too.

"I was like 'Wow I really want to do that, and they can make a living off of that,'" she explained when recently appearing on Behind the Mic with Pam Rossi"I don't really have to go into being a doctor or engineer. I can do what I love and feel the most passionate about."

Now, Jacobsen is readying her second studio album, Love Each Other Right, which she's planning to drop on November 18 after performing a release show at The SHAC in Milford on November 15.

Proceeds from the album will go to Hospice of Michigan; an organization that's near to Jacobsen's heart because of her late grandfather.
