Play Music On Your Porch Tonight To Chase Away Coronavirus Fears, Show Community Spirit

Play on the Porch

A once-in-a-generation crisis hit home this week as coronavirus fears climbed so high they toppled, crushing American public life until at least early April.

But we're Americans, and here we don't cry in our beer all alone under quarantine. We take quarantine and fear, overwhelming uncertainty and dig deep to get through it.

Take a hike, fear, we've got work to do and songs to sing.

RADIO.COM Detroit, which includes WWJ Newsradio, 97.1 The Ticket, WYCD, WOMC and 98.7 The Breeze, wants you to head to your porch at 6 p.m. today and every weekday until this is over.

Play a song. That's it.

Play it loud and proud to spread the message. This isn't the end. We're together in this and we'll get through it.

Have a guitar? Play it. Can you wail? Let's hear it. Break out your high school band clarinet.

Hell, just step on your porch and wave at the neighbors so you feel like part of a community again.

Not a musical bone in your body? Hold up your phone with the song playing on itunes or YouTube.

The events of the last few weeks have been truly devastating and hard to comprehend, but even so, leave it to the beautiful people of Italy to maintain a spirit of love, light, and strength to see us through these incredibly difficult times.⁣ ⁣ Please, please, please, we beg you to take care of each other and heed the advice of the world’s medical professionals to help us ALL get through this tragedy every little bit quicker. ⁣ ⁣ Remember, even if you’re not at risk yourself, there’s a chance you can put someone else in danger, so we beg you to sacrifice what you can and do your part in potentially saving the lives of those around you, even when your impact might not be visible.⁣ ⁣ And to all of those on the front lines in the hospitals, laboratories, grocery stores, schools, households, and other, we thank you. Thank you for your personal sacrifices, your selflessness, and for your compassion during these undeniably complicated and unprecedented times. ⁣ ⁣ This too shall pass and hopefully the world will become closer because of it. ⁣ ⁣ Take care of one another and stay safe. We love you. ----⁣ ⁣ #andratuttobene #iorestoacasa⁣ #---- ⁣ ⁣ ⁣

Fingers crossed, America will get back to business soon. Until then, play on the porch.
