Tom Cridland Aims to Be the Biggest Pop Star in the World

October 22, 2019

Tom Cridland is on a mission to become the biggest pop star in the world. It's a lofty goal, no doubt, but the British singer/songwriter is certainly putting forth the appropriate effort, releasing one single or podcast a week, indefinitely.

He and his band are also currently in the midst of a U.S. tour in which they are planning stops in 48 states, and that journey recently brought them to the MusicTown Detroit studios for an episode of Behind the Mic with Pam Rossi.

During the hour-long interview, Cridland dicussed a variety of topics, from his most recent songs, to his struggle with alcoholism (he is now 2-years sober), to his relationship with his manager and girlfriend, Debs, and how love and songwriting helped save his life.

Cridland and his band also performed three songs live on the show, including "Cold Hard Cash," "Hey, Mr. Clipboard" and "I Still Believe I Can Do It."

"I think aiming to be the biggest pop star in the world is something that I'm doing to try and enjoy the process," he explained to host Pam Rossi. "If I don't succeed, I will still have enjoyed trying, and I'm just trying to aim for the top."
