WYCD's Rob Stone Makes his Radio Performance Debut on Homegrown Happy Hour

June 20, 2019

Rob Stone has spent his professional career behind a microphone, but now, he's stepping into the forefront.

The WYCD host made vow to start taking his musical dreams seriously this year, and has been working on writing songs and performing at Coyote Joe's in Shelby Township.

Recently, Stone appeared on Homegrown Happy Hour with Frank Williams Jr. to talk about his budding country music career.

"I've always been kind of a closet musician, just playing at home," Stone told host Frank Williams Jr. "I just had a fear of getting out and doing it front of people. So I just decided one of my New Year's resolutions for 2019 was to try to get over whatever was in my mind that was holding me back, and put myself out there a little bit."

Stone also played three original songs live from the MusicTown Detroit studios, including "Firework Girl," "With Me Tonight" and "What I Want."
